Quasi-static tests on RC building columns strengthened with CFRP

To explore the possibilities and benefits of using CFRP (Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymers) in strengthening RC building columns, quasi-static tests (compression bending) were carried out at Institute Earthquake Engineering Seismology - IZIIS, Skopje by variation concrete class, reinforcement percentage various technologies. Some recommendations outcomes regarding approach, technology conclusions drawn from practical application these materials, are given. Based on analysis values obtained nonlinear static time history analyses, it can be concluded that ductility capacity for displacement model strengthened with is greater 60 %, while its strength 7.7 % when compared to without CFRP. It generally systems a very tool retrofitting structures, as they extensively improve flexural strengthening, shear column confinement, ductility.
